Privacy

Shelf Sleuth (shelfsleuth.com) collects as little as it can. This page lists everything we collect, why, and how to have it deleted. Questions go to hello@shelfsleuth.com.

When you add a book

The form asks for a screenshot and the show. Everything else is optional: your handle (or just a name), your email, the episode and timecode, and a clean version of the frame if you have one.

When you join the newsletter

We keep your email in private storage and send the newsletter through Resend. It's used for the newsletter and nothing else. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave anytime.

When you visit

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page, the site that sent you, your country, and your device and browser type. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you.

When you click a buy link

Buy links go through shelfsleuth.com/go/ so we can count them. We record the book, the page you clicked from, your country and the time. No IP address, no name, no email. After that you're on Bookshop.org, and their privacy notice applies. Bookshop.org pays us a commission on sales from these links.

Where it lives

The site runs on Vercel, and submissions are stored in Vercel's storage. Emails about submissions are sent through Resend. Both process data only to provide those services to us.

What we don't do

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We don't run ad trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as the site needs them to credit and verify entries. Ask and we'll delete yours.

Your choices

Email hello@shelfsleuth.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or take your handle off an entry. We'll answer within 30 days. If you live in California or another place with privacy laws that give you these rights, this is how to use them.

Kids

Shelf Sleuth isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child sent us something, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
