Robbins published it in November 1971, which makes it the hot new hardcover on the counter in the show's spring of 1972. A Detroit car baron builds one last car, names it after his great-granddaughter, and the family goes to war over the company. Laurence Olivier played the baron in the 1978 movie. Of all the books on that counter, the show chose one about a parent who won't let the family story end.
